Screen Captures
| The only change in screen captures over the last few versions of PaintShopPro has been the location of the Capture Setup and Capture Start. Until PSP7, it was located on the menu bar. It is now located on the File menu under Import... Screen Capture. It is also, in the default layout, the right most button on the main toolbar. | |
 | When you click on the menu choice for Capture Setup, you get the dialog box to the left.
There are three areas in the dialog box: - Capture
- Activate Capture Using
- Options
|
CAPTURE determines the part of the screen you want to capture:
- Area
A rectangular portion of the screen you select
- Full Screen
The entire screen
- Client Area
The inside area of the active window, below the title and menu bar)
- Window
The whole active window including the title and menu bars and window edges
- Object
A specific feature such as drop down boxes
ACTIVATE CAPTURE USING is how you are going to start the capture:
- Right Mouse Click
Using a right mouse click is easiest but won't work if you need to use a right mouse click to get something showing on the screen that you wnat in the capture.
- Hot Key
The hot key allows you to set up your screen for the capture. Just tap the hot key when it is ready. F11 is the default hot key as it is less common as a program hot key. I always use this hot key so I don't have to remember to right click instead <grin>
- Delay Timer
The delay timer is used to start the capture how ever many seconds you set it at AFTER clicking Capture Now or Start. If you need to make a selection (the AREA choice), the capture is performed the specified number of seconds after you select the area.
CAPTURE OPTIONS are details about the capture:
- Include Cursor
Unless this is checked, your mouse cursor will not be shown on the capture.
- Multiple Capture
By default, PSP will do only one capture and then revert to PSP. If you want to make a series of captures, check this box and return to PSP when you are done.
