Hi! My name is Marion, and I live in Queensland, Australia (beautiful one day, perfect the next).
I first became interested in genealogy about 10 years ago, but didn't have a chance to do much about it over the last few years. Then I upgraded my computer and about 12 months ago I discovered the internet. That sort of got me interested in it again. The next step was IRC and then I was well and truly hooked!
The one thing that got me was the number of people who had web pages, and had published their research. How did they do it? Where did I start to publish mine? So, when I saw that this channel was starting, I thought it was a good idea and decided to join it. (And I thought I was hooked before!)
There is one problem though, time. What with working full-time (I am an experienced bookkeeper/accounts clerk), trying to study (and finding that I am not studying what I am supposed to), indulging in my love of books, especially ancient history, and trying to find time for all the other chores, there are not enough hours in the day, and weekends are not long enough. I find that even with the best of intentions, I don't seem to be able to spend time at the FHC, local genealogy society and the State Library. My time seems to be taken up with the internet, much to the disgust of my dog who thinks I should spend the time with him.
For this project, I have 'chosen' to prepare a webpage covering the use of Tables. I will endeavour to extract information on this subject from the logs of the weekly sessions, and hopefully make it as easy to follow as possible. So, Sandy had better resign himself to my spending more time on the computer.
I have started! The first of what looks like being a few pages on Tables has been done, so if you want to know the very basics of Tables, take a look at it.
